Installing a modern bathroom vanity is a great way to remodel your bathroom, or resuscitate a boring bathroom design. Many contemporary vanities, much unlike their traditional counterparts, feature a minimalist (“bare bones”) aesthetic that is often quite striking in its simplicity and beauty. Of course, some of these vanities just end up looking trashy. Today, some of the most popular and common vanities are manufactured with steel or chrome and glass. Again, this is a nod to minimalist art, and the philosophy that sometimes less is more. Which brings us to the 35” Solace Bathroom Vanity. Like many modern vanities, the Solace is wall-mounted. The solace features sturdy chrome construction and, as with most modern vanities, features a very sparse look. But just because it is simple, do not assume that it is unattractive. In fact, the simplicity of the Solace’s design is one of its more endearing qualities.
The countertop is glass, and it supports a glass countertop vessel sink and a towel rack. The glass is available in four colors: amber, blue, frosted (a sort of light blue), and grey. The Solace has one shelf beneath the countertop for storage, so if you are a serious organizer by nature, this may not be the vanity for you. The shelf should give you plenty of room to organize your toiletries and hygienic products, but the fact that these are clearly visible (as the Solace does not have cabinet doors) may be a bit deterring for some designers and homeowners. The shelf is approximately 30” wide, as opposed to the countertop which is 35” wide. The entire vanity stands at about 20” in height, though this may change depending on the faucet you choose to install. It should be noted that the Solace and the faucet are sold separately, which is an important budget consideration. The Solace is a relatively affordable vanity though, with a price tag of about $650 and you can get it from here.
Overall, the Solace is a very charming contemporary vanity at a very reasonable price. It won’t be worth your time if you have a lot of bathroom stuff to organize, nor will it serve you particularly well if the bathroom sees a lot of traffic everyday from multiple users (look into a double bathroom vanity for that). But for a simple and endearing bathroom vanity that fits nicely into bathrooms of any size, consider the Solace a very good option.

Contemporary Vanities - Solace Bathroom Vanity
The Axor Starck ShowerCollection

Revealed at this year’s New York Design Week, Phillipe Starck’s ShowerCollection is literally the rain shower of your dreams. Design from building blocks to be easy to both use and install in your bathroom, the blocks can be individually mixed and matched to anyone’s preference. Very cyberprep-inspired in appearance, the module is free of any innecessary or gaudy frills and is shiny and efficiently mechanical in design. But the best part of this design is the shower itself, which falls onto the bather like rain water. Although this may not be the most environmentally-friend or water-efficient design of all time, it’s definitely one of the coolest and one of the few that makes me want to purchase it in a last-minute impulse buy. An impulse buy that I would absolutely not regret, by the way.

Modern Bathroom Faucet - Water Ball Ripples

Water Ball Ripples is a really cool & modern bathroom faucet designed by Smith Newnam. The design looks awesome, and I’m pretty sure that you’ll fall in love with this faucet after you’ll see the pictures. To control the Ripple faucet, you maneuver an electronically-secured metal ball on top of the faucet’s frosted glass surface. Moving the ball in or out from the center controls water pressure. Moving it around controls temperature. A flash heating system ensures that water in the water channel isn’t hot until it’s ready to be mixed, which prevents scolding. The surface glows red or blue to denote how hot or cold it is. Now just image how much fun you can get by playing with this new technology. The bad thing is that the Water Ball Ripple is just a concept right now, but I’m sure that this design has a lot of potential.

Finally I think that the Morphosis Omega Shower System looks very good, but is to equipped, and if something breaks I’m pretty sure that you’ll need serious assistance. Now if you want something like this in your home you’ll need a lot of money …$27,126 but you’ll be sure that from now on any bathroom will look like crap compared with yours.

Red Diamond Bathtub

This Red Diamond bathtub is probably the most expensive bathtub ever made, and has pretty interesting elements. Its features include two waterproof HDTVs, GSM remote control, console with massive gold frame (42 g 18 k) and Swarowski crystals. The thing that amazes me is the price, which is no less than $47,200. I wonder where did they come up this this enormous sum? Let’s do some math: 2 HDTVs, no more than $1,000, 42 g of gold, again no more than $1,000, GSM controlling capability, I’ll be kind and award them another $1,000. The small Swarowski crystals are placed on the champagne-support only, so… let’s value them at $2,000. These make a total of $5,000, so, technically, the bathtub itself should worth another $37,000. These guys are insane, how dumb do they think we are?
Bathroom Remodeling Ideas

Today I was looking for bathroom remodeling ideas and I’ve found an Italian company that produces modern contemporary bathroom designs. This company is called Mastella and it was founded in 1984. Today Mastella is a solid company with a consistent, easily identifiable image, run by Antonio Mastella with the help of wife Daniela and daughters Cristina and Meggi. While I was browsing their product portfolio I’ve found a bathroom vanity that I wanted to present, but I thought that if I’ll present a collection of pictures, that might inspire other people who want to remodel their bathroom it would be better. So here are 7 pictures that I hope will give you a little inspiration if you’re going to remodel your bathroom.
Washbasin Shaped As A Fossil - Ammonite

If you want something really unique in your bathroom then you should take a look at the Ammonite washbasin from HighTech that is shaped as a fossil. This unique design showcases the organic qualities of concrete. The washbasin can be produced in widths between 90 cm and 330 cm with a standard depth of 56 cm, and is available in several colors. It can be installed either with a table-mounted or wall-mounted tap. Now the design might be unique and cool, but if you would like to wash something it will be quite hard, and the cleaning part will also be a challenge.
